First, let’s explain the relationship between “The Wedding Ring” and “Oxwagon Lodge”. Your wedding is arranged and produced by The Wedding Ring. However, the gardens and grounds and your overnight accommodation is provided by Oxwagon Lodge itself. Gottit? 🙂
Oxwagon Lodge is a spesialiteitslodge (“specialty lodge”) and one of the most unusual venues in South Africa. The special theme of the venue revolves around the 6 original Oxwagons. When you stay at Oxwagon Lodge, you can sleep in an original Oxwagon!
Each Oxwagon is cute and cosy. And simple. The main bedroom (double-bed) is inside the Oxwagon itself. Each Oxwagon has an attached “Hartbeeshuisie” chalet that comprises a sitting room or second bedroom (single beds) plus a private bathroom with hot shower and flushing toilet.
Oxwagon Lodge also has a “cheap and cheerful” backpacker’s accommodation in a converted double-decker bus, with bunk beds. This is great fun for after the Reception, and it’s not expensive. But bring your sense of humour!
