Reception

Wedding receptions are usually hosted at the Bushveld Lapa, which requires a walk of only a few seconds from the Ceremony area at the Amphitheatre.

 

The Bushveld Lapa is reserved strictly for wedding guests only, and provides everything you need for a great Reception, all in one cosy and relaxed location.  Food is served here, the bar is fully stocked and the dance floor is immediately adjacent.  The Lapa is located under a spreading Combretum (“raasblaar”) tree and is surrounded by the lawns and gardens.  The whole atmosphere is natural and comfortable.

 

The staff of The Wedding Ring at Oxwagon Lodge will dress the tables and drape the dance floor, set out lanterns and the décor.  The night-time lighting is beautifully soft and suits the rustic setting.  If you wish, you can request the campfire in the centre of the Lapa to be lit after dinner.  The venue has a natural party vibe and that is the secret to having a great Reception.  We normally host accommodate up to 120 guests for the Reception.  Please discuss options for larger guest numbers.

 

Catering options include the Full Monty Skaap Spit-braai, Wedding Buffets, and Bridal Picnics.  The Bridal Picnic option is normally suitable for a morning wedding with a Garden Reception.   After dinner, it’s time for dancing and a great party!  Our staff will look after you and your wedding guests into the early morning hours.  

 

After the Reception, and when you just can’t dance anymore, you can retire to bed in your unique Oxwagon accommodation.  The ring of Oxwagons forms a semi-circle around the edge of the gardens, so no driving home is needed
