Ceremony

The staff of The Wedding Ring at Oxwagon Lodge will dress and drape the ceremony stage, lay out the red carpet for the bride to approach, and place wooden church benches on each side of the red carpet.  Guests will be able to sit either on the wooden benches, or on the terraced steps of the Amphitheatre.  We can accommodate up to 200 guests for the Ceremony itself. 

 

Want some special arrangements?  Should you wish musicians to play for your wedding ceremony (perhaps a string quartet, or a harpist, or even bagpipe player ), there is plenty of space for them.  The effect is electric.  Other special arrangements might include for the bride to arrive in a limousine or in a horse-drawn carriage.  The Wedding Ring can assist with special arrangements or the bride and groom can easily make their own arrangements.  Power points for microphones and amplifiers are in place.  

 

Following the Wedding Ceremony, it is customary for the Bride and Groom to sign the marriage register.  After the signing it is commonly requested that we serve a light beverage to the wedding guests.  One of our most popular beverage options is called the “Voortrekker Cocktail”. Other options include a sherry, or juice, or a fruit punch, etc. 

 

At The Wedding Ring your photographer is spoiled for choice of brilliant photogenic locations.  Some popular photo locations include the Fever Terraces, the gardens and grounds, at the Oxwagons, by the pool, or even in the natural veld of the mountainside.  

 

After the Ceremony, the occasion will continue at the Reception.  The Reception is normally hosted at the Bushveld Lapa.
